A fun and happy day sniffing, playing, walking with pals, having some massage and finally stretching out on a cosy rug dreaming about all that has happened.
Welcome to The Dreaming Dog, where dogs are welcomed into our house in the heart of rural Perthshire whilst their doggy-parents go about their busy lives. Our concept is simple; if you need someone to look after your pooch or pooches then they can come and live with us, in our home, with our elderly black Labrador. This isn't kennels, your fur babies won't be left in some dark concrete outdoor run; no they share the same living space and 3-acre fully-enclosed garden that we do. It really is a home from home.
We have been fully licensed by Perth and Kinross Council since 1st October 2024 (click here and look at the "current list" link). Licence number HB/PK/170.
We can offer full home-boarding for up to two dogs (from the same household) for any length of time if we have the availability.
When your dogs are with us they will be part of the family and will be free to do what they want to do, whether that's sniffing round the secure garden or lazing in front of the stove. We will follow whatever guidance their human family provides us with, and we will look after them until you return from your travels.
Dogs staying with us will also be given a daily walk, usually in local woodland, and the walk length will be guided by you.
For clarity, we have a dog of our own (an elderly female Labrador) so if your dog doesn't get on with her then unfortunately The Dreaming Dog probably isn't suitable for you, as the dogs would be living in the same environment and they need to get on with each other. This is why we require an initial "meet and greet". However if your dog gets on fine with her, but can be aggressive to other dogs, then that's okay, we can manage that.
If you are looking to book your holidays, and need some doggy-holidays for your mutt, we would urge you to get in touch sooner rather than later. Many of our previous dog owners have contacted us recently to book in for 2025 or even 2026, and have been disappointed as we already have dogs booked with us. We're quite surprised how quickly the popular "school holiday" slots are snapped up. You can see details of current availability on our Dates page.
